Condition (scale 1-10) - 5.0 - The pages are worn as often normal with a very old document stained, tears at creases, holes at creases, bends, folds, edge wear, age discoloration; smudges, dirt, and marks all possible. PLEASE see the photos for the most accurate, objective description of the condition. Please note This cursive handwriting is in pencil & is pretty clear and not terribly challenging; these period letters are often difficult to read, but given a small time investment, you can get used to translating most CW letters. I will do the best I can below to translate, but please understand unintentional errors and/or corrected spelling & punctuation. I suppose you have exciting times at our house by this time as Lee has been threatening to carry the war in the Pennsylvania to conquer peace.
I hear a great many say they wish he would to stir up our men through out the north to make some effort to suppress the rebellion.
