Lead poured back with hooks missing. Rope border with some aged dings and dents along with great patina and some white lead oxidation. Initials HW, and CA7 with the 7 upside down (a curved back on the 7 which an L would not have) along with Georgia stamped on the buckle back in addition. The CA7 appears to reference Cavalry company A regiment 7 and there is a soldier listed as H. Whiting who was that companys bugler.
I could not locate any other records in regards to that soldier, however, the 7th Georgia Cavalry did participate in several Virginia actions.
