SUPER RARE CIVIL WAR ALBUM - TWO ARMED SOLDIERS ID'ED + FAMILY CDV'S & TINTYPES - Note: I added a closeup of the tinted tintype in this album as my opening image. What can I say, but what an amazing find.

You are considering a part of an original Civil War photo album where the original owner painstakingly pieced the images all together. Period notations or identifications are added to each image. The first tintype in my listing is of an armed Union soldier holding a revolver.

His pants are hand tinted and his jacket buttons are gilded. I believe his name is Johnny Bay. Across from his image appears to be torn open to reveal part of a letter; it doesn't seem as though a photo ever was placed beside him. Next are the two CDV's. The photo on the left is of another armed Union soldier named, Robert Woodland?

The other CDV is identified as, Smepston Johns? In the next spread are tintypes of Mrs. The next to last photo is actually the front cover image and reads, Aunt Johnel? Finally, the last tintype in my listing is of a strange eyed gentleman who is the only person not identified.

Included is everything you see in my listing photos. Three spreads, plus a front and back image or a total of two CDV's and five tintypes. What a fantastic research project for a veteran Civil War collector. Please feel free to ask me any questions or request further information. Good luck to my lucky winner.

CONDITION : Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of the image and as part of my description. The charm of this partial album is the amount of handwork and patina in my opinion. The images were pasted behind paper and the moisture from the glue has caused the iron plating to rust making the stains you are seeing rounding each image.

The paper is very fragile, but the album pages are stiff, yet held together loosely with a fraying spine. The pages measure approximately 4 1/2" X 5 1/2" inches.

The two armed Union soldiers are wonderful images and with the period identifications, you are considering a dream project for someone who loves a good detective story.
